Disabled refuge systems

Disabled refuge. Two way, hands free, heard.

Emergency voice communication between refuge points and the people managing an evacuation, for commercial buildings across Dublin and Leinster.

Hands free operationAll building typesServiced twice a year

A refuge area is where somebody who cannot use the stairs waits for assisted evacuation. It only works if that person can talk to whoever is managing the evacuation, and be heard, without having to hold a handset.

We install and service two way emergency voice communication between refuge points and a master station, usually at the fire panel or at the assembly point. Hands free at the refuge end, because the person using it may not have a free hand.

The equipment is only half the answer. A refuge point with a working call button and nobody named to answer it is a system that passes a test and fails an evacuation. Who answers, and what happens next, is part of the conversation when we install it.

What the work covers

Design and installation

Refuge points at the places your evacuation strategy actually uses, with a master station somewhere a person will be.

Servicing

Full service and certification twice a year, testing a call and an answer from every point.

Your monthly check

A call and an answer from each refuge point, logged in the register.

Part of the wider strategy

The system is specified alongside your evacuation plan rather than bolted on after it.

Why people call us about this

A new build or fit out where refuge points are on the drawings and nothing has been installed.

A system that went in with the building and has never been serviced.

A building where nobody is sure who is meant to answer a refuge call.

An access audit or a fire safety certificate application that flagged it.

Start with a free site survey.

A technician walks the building with you and puts the findings in writing. It is free, there is no obligation to proceed, and the findings are yours either way.
