A fire alarm system is the part of your building that has to work on the worst day it will ever have. Most of the time it sits there doing nothing visible, which is exactly why it gets neglected until an inspection or an insurance renewal forces the issue.
We design, supply, install and commission addressable and conventional systems, and we service systems we did not install. Takeovers are normal work for us. We survey what is there, tell you honestly what condition it is in, and quote to bring it up to standard rather than quietly starting the clock on a contract.
Everything is specified against I.S. 3218, the Irish standard for fire detection and alarm systems in buildings. That covers where detection goes, how the building is zoned, how the system behaves when it activates, and how often it is serviced.
What the work covers
Survey and design
We walk the building, work out the category of system it needs, and mark up zones, device positions and the cause and effect the panel should follow. You get that in writing before anything is ordered.
Installation and commissioning
Our own technicians install and commission. Commissioning is the step that gets skipped most often, and it is the one that produces the certificate an inspector will ask for.
Servicing
Full service visits by a competent person, covering every device on a rolling basis over the year. Four visits a year is the baseline. Small non residential systems can drop to two, and anywhere people sleep stays at four regardless of size.
Faults and remedials
Faults are diagnosed rather than silenced. If a detector keeps false activating, the answer is usually its type or its position, not a fresh head in the same spot.
